How do I claim CME credit?

If it's your first time dialing in, please introduce yourself to the host (usually me, Behrang Amini) and provide the following information via e-mail to (bamini@mdanderson.org). This is required by our CME office: Then, each time you dial in, use your full name when asked by the app. If there are several people watching together, use let the host know who is there.

To get CME transcripts, e-mail me at bamini@mdanderson.org and let me know what dates you want the transcript to cover. You can request transcripts at 3, 6, or 12 month intervals. It takes at least 10 business days for participation to be reflected on the CME Transcript. If you run into any issues with your participation not being reflected, please let me know. Participant information is sent immediately after the conference.

What are the rules for presenting?

There is only one hard rule: protect patient confidentiality. No exceptions. If using presentation software (e.g., powerpoint), please make sure the file is clear of any patient info. Don't jot down patient name or MRN in the notes pane. Save images without patient information. If there's no way to do this (e.g., with ultrasound images), don't just cover the PHI with a black box that can be removed. Edit the image itself to scrub patient info.

For case presentations and case consults, provide a succinct patient history, relevant images, a differential. After providing the differential, pause and ask the audience if they can offer a diagnosis. This is very helpful for the trainees.

For case presentations, also provide the final diagnosis and a brief discussion.

Keep the presentations brief (no more than 10 minutes). This will allow time for others to present, and, most importantly leave time for valuable discussion.
